Hearing Health Foundation is proud to partner with fellow nonprofit Help America Hear, which since 2004 has worked to raise awareness and provide financial assistance to those with visual and/or auditory impairments. As part of this effort, Help America Hear awards five high school seniors each a pair of new hearing aids and $2,000 to use for higher education.

On World Hearing Day every March 3, Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) joins with the global community to raise awareness of hearing health and the need to protect our hearing. This year we are launching a 60-second video to help promote a major culture shift around how we think about protecting our hearing and hearing protection.
World Hearing Day Is Coming Up March 3
World Hearing Day is an annual awareness day every March 3 that the World Health Organization (WHO) created to promote hearing health globally. The theme for this year’s World Hearing Day is: “To hear for life, listen with care!” Here at Hearing Health Foundation (HHF), we couldn’t agree more.

A Veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq Urges Better Hearing Protection for Soldiers
We often hear about the devastating injuries sustained by soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. Their suffering is profound and should be a bigger part of our national consciousness. We Americans should also talk about the most common disabilities experienced by veterans—hearing loss and tinnitus. These are less visible but insidious conditions that can seriously upend every aspect of veterans’ lives: their overall physical and psychological wellness, along with social interactions, even work performance.

Meet the HRP Working Groups
The Hearing Restoration Project consortium model has, since its start, centered on team science, collaboration, and the faster exchange of data. To further energize this approach and facilitate even closer interaction, including among HRP researchers’ postdoctoral researchers and other lab members, the HRP decided at its annual meeting to reorganize its research into three working groups.
