Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) is so grateful that you have been part of our mission to advance cures for hearing loss, tinnitus, and related conditions in 2020. Thanks to you, science did not stop this year, despite a pandemic that threatened otherwise. With your help, HHF-funded scientists adapted to remote work focusing on data analysis, virtual experiments, and manuscript preparation before ultimately returning safely to their labs.
Operation Regrow Begins June 16
During COVID-19, we have witnessed unprecedented challenges to people with hearing loss, Social distancing and face coverings have exacerbated feelings of isolation and impeded communication with friends, family, colleagues, and medical practitioners. We hope you’ll keep these unprecedented challenges in mind when you make a gift to HHF’s research through Operation Regrow.
#GivingTuesdayNow: Science Doesn't Stop
“Experimental work in my lab has been paused. However, right before the pandemic struck, my lab and I had finished the final round of imaging experiments and collected enormous datasets for review. We are able to work and maintain daily contact and hold weekly virtual lab meetings to keep each other up-to-date on our progress.” Right now, you can help our scientists, like Dr. Apostolides, ensure that momentum is not lost in the quest to better treat and cure devastating conditions like hearing loss and tinnitus. Our health cannot afford for research to be interrupted.
Support HHF in Your Local HLAA Walk4Hearing
Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) is proud to be a National Alliance Partner in this year’s Hearing Loss Association (HLAA) Walk4Hearing, meaning that you can support hearing loss research while raising awareness of hearing health with your community.
World Hearing Day: Don't Let Hearing Loss Limit You
Today, March 3, is World Hearing Day, an annual celebration of hearing loss awareness spearheaded by the World Health Organization. The theme is “Don’t let hearing loss limit you.” Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) envisions a world where no one is limited by their hearing loss, tinnitus, or a related disorder.
A New Gift for Our Supporters
In 2019, Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) made significant advancements toward new treatments and cures for hearing loss, tinnitus, and related conditions — and we couldn’t have done it without your support. To thank you for your generosity, we’re excited to help you and your loved ones prepare for your future.
More Than Winning
With the help of my employer, OneLife Fitness, I scheduled the challenge for my 55th birthday at the gym. I chose to pair the event with a fundraiser for HHF on Facebook, where I was able to not only raise funds, but bring more awareness into the community about the good work of HHF.
You Put Better Hearing Health in Reach
In 2019, HHF funded 21 major research projects, and our grantees published significant findings to advance our knowledge of TMC1 gene therapy delivery, the connections between tinnitus and hearing loss, the mechanics of speech processing, the diagnostics of Ménière's disease, and more. We could not be here without you.
Your Giving Tuesday Opportunity
HHF’s work to better treat and cure hearing loss helps millions, like Frank, of New Jersey, who has lived with hearing loss since age 2 and is an advocate for hearing health. "I support HHF to help us find our sound," he says.
Hearing Well Matters — All Day, Every Day
When, 20 years ago, Delane started to lose her own hearing, she decided she would not let that happen to her. She wanted to remain vibrant and engaged with life—not invisible or isolated. Her audiologist, the same one she still sees at age 90, instructed her to wear her hearing aids all day, every day.
