Thanks to you, Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) is the nation’s largest nonprofit funder of hearing and balance research.
It’s so vital that this life-changing science never stops—even during a global pandemic requiring our researchers to shelter in place. As this email reaches you, HHF’s scientists are performing data analysis, virtual experiments, and manuscript preparation from their homes.
We recently heard from Pierre Apostolides, Ph.D., a current HHF grantee who studies vagus nerve stimulation as targets for treating tinnitus at University of Michigan. He says:
“Experimental work in my lab has been paused. However, right before the pandemic struck, my lab and I had finished the final round of imaging experiments and collected enormous datasets for review. We are able to work and maintain daily contact and hold weekly virtual lab meetings to keep each other up-to-date on our progress.”
Right now, you can help our scientists, like Dr. Apostolides, ensure that momentum is not lost in the quest to better treat and cure devastating conditions like hearing loss and tinnitus. Our health cannot afford for research to be interrupted.
If you, too, believe that science cannot stop, you can make a donation today to #GivingTuesdayNow, our campaign of giving prompted by the unprecedented need created by COVID-19.
From May 3 through May 5, your gift and impact will be doubled, and HHF pledges to use your investment wisely to advance new treatments and cures for hearing loss, tinnitus, and related disorders.
Visit our #GivingTuesdayNow page on May 3 to make your contribution.
