By Timothy Higdon

It’s here! Happy Giving Tuesday — the biggest day of online giving to support nonprofits like Hearing Health Foundation (HHF).

Thanks to our donors, scientists funded by Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) achieved significant milestones in hearing and balance research and awareness in the past year. Just a few include:

  • Discovery of a new neuron type in the brain that will help us better understand sound processing

  • Application of single-cell RNA sequencing to inform hair cell regeneration

  • Clinical tools to assess the severity of tinnitus

  • Improved TMC1 gene therapy to restore hearing and balance in mice

Learn about the highlights in hearing research you made possible in 2019.

Thank you so much for being part of our exciting work to advance new treatments and cures for hearing loss and related conditions. The leveraging effect of our grants coupled with the resources of major medical institutions is profound, and it could not happen without your generous support.

HHF’s work to better treat and cure hearing loss helps millions, like Frank, of New Jersey, who has lived with hearing loss since age 2 and is an advocate for hearing health. "I support HHF to help us find our sound," he says.

HHF’s work to better treat and cure hearing loss and related conditions like tinnitus, Usher syndrome, Ménière's disease, hyperacusis, and auditory processing disorder, will benefit Frank and those like him. More than 50 million Americans and close to a half-billion worldwide are affected by hearing loss, one of our most pressing public health issues. By making a donation of any size to top-tier researchers funded by HHF, you are able to participate in life-changing treatments and cures.

Please give to HHF to celebrate this very special day of philanthropy, and to equip our scientists to move toward helping more find the sound they need.

Your gift today will be matched dollar for dollar by a generous, anonymous donor.
