Paul Orlin serves as vice chair of HHF’s Board of Directors.
Hearing Health Foundations (HHF)’s Board of Directors presented Paul Orlin with the Collette Ramsey Baker Leadership Award in January. This award recognizes one individual annually for emulating our founder’s outstanding service and dedication to finding cures for hearing loss, tinnitus, and related conditions.
Orlin has enthusiastically served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2000 and has been the board vice chair since 2015.
Orlin was integral to the groundbreaking Hearing Restoration Project (HRP) consortium’s creation. Under his tenure, HHF also significantly strengthened and expanded the Emerging Research Grants (ERG) program including award size and project length.
“Paul is deeply committed to HHF’s progress,” says President & CEO Timothy Higdon. “As a member of the audit, finance, and development Committees, he has been critical to HHF’s establishment of financial stability and effective controls. HHF has been recognized by all charity watchdogs largely in thanks to Paul’s effective leadership and stewardship.”
This research shows that it is possible to design gene therapies for the ear that are carefully targeted at supporting cells, an essential first step in applying targeted gene therapies to treat hearing loss in humans.
