Presenting Our FY19 Annual Report

By Timothy Higdon

Thank you for your support of Hearing Health Foundation (HHF)’s groundbreaking research to improve the lives of people living with hearing and balance conditions. I am pleased to share the outcomes of our donors’ generosity in the Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2019 (Oct. 1, 2018 - Sept. 30, 2019).

As you will see, HHF remains steadfast in our identification and funding of top-tier scientists and studies for our two cornerstone research programs, Emerging Research Grants (ERG) and the Hearing Restoration Project (HRP). Overseen by committees of volunteer expert advisors, the ERG and HRP are interconnected and yield critical breakthroughs in basic science that will inform future technologies and therapies for auditory and vestibular disorders.

HHF is also committed to raising awareness of hearing loss, tinnitus, and related conditions through our magazine and other communication channels. Our ambition is to transform invisible disabilities into widely recognized health conditions that urgently require better prevention methods, treatments, and cures. In FY2019, we reached more than 1.3 million people per quarter with related messaging.

While it will still take more time for us to realize our vision of a world where everyone can choose to live without hearing loss, tinnitus, and related conditions, we are witnessing exceptional progress.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, scientific advisors, volunteers, and research grantees, I am truly grateful for your support and look forward to more milestones ahead. Your feedback is always welcome, so please contact us at development@hhf.org or 212.257.6140 with any questions or to discuss giving opportunities.
