Support HHF in Your Local HLAA Walk4Hearing
By Lauren McGrath
Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) is proud to be a National Alliance Partner in this year’s Hearing Loss Association (HLAA) Walk4Hearing, meaning that you can support hearing loss research while raising awareness of hearing health with your community.
Now celebrating its 15th Anniversary, the HLAA Walk4Hearing is a national program that reaches out to more than 48 million people with hearing loss, their families, friends, and hearing health professionals to educate and raise awareness about hearing loss, good hearing health, and communication access.
When you register online to participate in a local Walk, you will have the opportunity to choose how they would like to designate funds raised. One option is to choose HHF as your Alliance so that 40 percent of your fundraising benefits groundbreaking hearing loss research programs. 50 percent of funds will benefit HLAA and the remaining 10 percent will support your local walk’s expenses.
You can find a walk in a city near you. Walks will take place nationwide beginning May 2 in Westchester, NY and ending in San Diego, CA in November. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all spring walks (through June 13) will be held virtually. A virtual event is conducted on the internet instead of being held in a physical location. Team captains, participants, sponsors, and alliance organizations join from their computers at a specific time on Walk Day for an online celebratory and educational experience.
