Year in Review

By Tara Guastella

Just four short months ago, in early fall, we launched the Hearing Health blog. We’ve been happy to see our community grow through interest in the blog posts.

As 2014 kicks off, I wanted to share the top five most popular Hearing Health blog posts from 2013.  If you haven’t had a chance to read them, please click on the links.

1) How Your Smartphone Can Help You Hear Better

Since they first became available, smartphones such as those from Google and Apple have provided a boon to people who have hearing loss. Now we have what promises to be an even more seamless integration between the smartphone and hearing aid.

2) 3 Days, 14 Scientists, 1 Goal

The members of the Hearing Restoration Project consortium gathered in Seattle in mid-November to discuss their research progress toward a cure for hearing loss and tinnitus.

3) The Perfect (Powerful) Stocking Stuffer

Can you guess what it is? Hint: Hearing aid wearers will thank you!

4) Give Thanks, and Then Give Back

Learn about the second annual Giving Tuesday and how our supporters raised funds to cure hearing loss and tinnitus.

5) Congratulations to Our Former Emerging Researchers

The primary goal of HHF’s Emerging Research Grant (ERG) program is to prepare scientists new to hearing and balance research to earn funding through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It is with that in mind that we are thrilled to congratulate the latest crop of ERG alumni who have received NIH support.
