Meet the Members of the Hearing Restoration Project
Meet the 2012 Emerging Research and Ad Hoc Program Grantees
Each year Hearing Health Foundation's Emerging Research Grants program awards young investigators exploring new avenues in hearing and balance science. This year we are excited to announce that we have awarded 19 outstanding research scientists for this program.
We also have the opportunity to provide awards for two additional topic-specific research projects this year. A Literature Review on Hyperacusis was awarded to one researcher while two others will be conducting projects in Strial Atrophy/Development.
Emerging Research Grant funds support research in the following areas:
-
Fundamental Auditory Research: development, genetics, molecular biology, physiology, anatomy, and regeneration biology
-
Hearing and Balance Restoration: cochlear implants, sensory hair cell regeneration, and auditory nerve regeneration
-
Hearing Loss: age-related, noise-induced, drug-induced, otosclerosis, and otitis media
