Dear Supporters of Hearing Health Foundation:
These are incredibly exciting times to be an otolaryngologist. And for researchers in the field, there is no place more exciting to be right now than here at Hearing Health Foundation’s Hearing Restoration Project.
It all began with the amazing chick discovery of 1987. Research funded by Hearing Health Foundation yielded the game-changing discovery that birds can regrow the inner-ear hairs necessary for hearing when they are damaged. Humans can’t. Most of us never even considered it a possibility.
After the discovery we estimated that it would take 50 years to translate this into therapies that would help humans. So Hearing Health Foundation gathered a group of the most forward-thinking hearing researchers in America to form the groundbreaking Hearing Restoration Project Consortium and accelerate discovery in this hugely promising area.
We know the goals and the objectives. We have access to new genetic and molecular tools that transform the hope of a cure into a genuine possibility. And we have a top-notch group of researchers who are committed to talking to each other, sharing their data and building on each other’s discoveries, all for one simple reason: We know that we can do this, and we all want to be part of it
But we need your help. Please donate now so that we can deliver a genuine cure for hearing loss as soon as possible.
Sincerely,

George A. Gates, M.D.
